Why gate records matter

The gate is where goods physically enter and leave. Recording every movement gives you an independent check against your stock and sales records, and settles disputes about what was received or dispatched.

Gate inward (IGP)

  1. 1Go to Gate Management → Transactions → Gate Inward and choose Add.
  2. 2Enter the date, the party the goods came from, and the purpose.
  3. 3Record the vehicle number and driver name.
  4. 4Add each item with quantity and unit.
  5. 5Save, and have it approved where your process requires it.

Gate outward (OGP)

  1. 1Go to Gate Management → Transactions → Gate Outward and choose Add.
  2. 2Enter the date, the party the goods are going to, and the purpose — sale, return or sample.
  3. 3Record the vehicle, driver and reference document such as the invoice number.
  4. 4Add each item with quantity and unit, then save.

Gate reports

  • Gate Inward Summary and Detail — everything received over a period.
  • Gate Outward Summary and Detail — everything dispatched.
  • Gate Movement — both directions together, for reconciliation.
